29.9.24 - Cobham    Tournament

Yesterday, the ladies finished the weekend with another brilliant tournament at @surreycountyfa tournament in Cobham.

Both teams absolutely SMASHED IT and made it through to both the cup finals. Two finals, both involving Merstham

Merstham Blacks topped their group with wins of 1-0, 1-0 and 2-0, and then went on to win their semi final on penalties

Merstham Ambers also topped their group with a 0-0 draw, and wins of 4-0 and 1-0. They also went on to win their semi-final 1-0!

Unfortunately, the teams both so narrowly lost in the finals, with the Ambers losing 1-0 and the Blacks on penalties. However, the achievement of two finals overshadowed any disappointment and it was an amazing performance all round.

We are Merstham!!!

P.S. Petition to get more than one ice pack for the ladies?! Sharing is caring

9.8.24 - Southpark    Tournament

Yesterday evening, Merstham Ladies participated in the South Park ladies’ tournament, playing in the rec division. It was our first competitive event this season and every lady absolutely gave it their all!

In the group stages of the tournament, the ladies drew every match, with the results being 1-1, 1-1 and 2-2, with goals from H, Chrissie and Katie. Shout out to Katie, who scored the last goal in the third match in the last seconds of the game, which made us runners up in the group. Into to the semi finals, we played epic football and the match finished 0-0, taking us to penalties. H, Chrissie and Gilly then scored their penalties, taking us into the final!

The final was very hard fought however, Kingswood managed to get a goal in the last few minutes of the match, meaning the ladies finished in second place We are so proud of everyone- the goal scorers, Leona (who SMASHED it in goal and was our POM), Abi, Tara and Tash who bossed the defence and Lucy and Rosie, who lit up midfield.

Shout out also to Tarn, for excellent sideline yelling and the rest of our support #oneteam

Bring on the 24/25 season

17.3.24 - Epsom and Ewell

The sun came out for the ladies mixed team friendly against Epsom and Ewell Rec Team and we were lucky to miss the rain of the morning. A mixture of the Ambers and Blacks took on Epsom’s and Ewell’s division one team and played some great football throughout the match, with some fantastic passing and positioning for the whole game. There were some great shots on goal which were saved by Epsom’s strong keeper and some great runs up the middle.

The match finished 4-0 to Epsom and Ewell, who had a couple of lucky goals but also played very strongly in midfield.

POM was Tash for excellent positioning and Sara was voted Player of the Match by Epsom and Ewell.

Thank you to Mick for taking time out of his Sunday too Also to Tarn for organizing it and to Epsom and Ewell for hosting…. Definitely a rematch soon!
